Soul Fire

With calmly closed eyes can I see, 
This wondrous universe that resides in me, 
A dazzling light does flood my mind, 
Giving glimpses of a state I left far behind, 
Flaming tears roll down my eye, 
In ecstasy of this light divine, 
Only transient though does one find, 
This searing brilliance that courses through the mind, 
Yet fills your heart with a lasting glow, 
A deep longing to return to the flow, 
Oh! to be bathed forever in that light, 
And let the mind be always in flight, 
But how does one find such eternal bliss? 
That elevated state that the Soul does miss, 
And whence does lie this path to the peak? 
That journey back to divinity that I seek, 
A fire does burn right through my Soul, 
Leading me on to my divine Goal...
