War

War

A Poem by Lucia Morgan

Blood,
Hatred,
Greed.
Thick and congealent, like the clotted channels of the throat,
The jugular,
Squirting,
Bubbling up under your hands.
This is the play,
Dramatized,
Poised.
Gives us a chance to improvise,
To cry,
And to justify the kill.
