The Funeral

The Funeral

A Poem by Lucia Morgan

Is there anything that i should bring?
to the black funeral,
full of golden wings.

Is there anything else that i could have said?
to the drunken soil,
for the worms behead

Is there anywhere else that i can go
on a broken path,
for the sorrowful folk.

Is there anything left that the heart can save
in that deep, hollow place,
full of love and sharp pain.

But the Rain pours slow,
Down the grave.
and so...Where else is there to go?
