20 Year High School Reunion

20 Year High School Reunion

A Poem by pouringwater

Remember Me?

Think back to 1995 ....

The guy with the weird haircut

That sat in the back of the classroom

I wore punk tee shirts and flannel

I wore combat boots

I had a skull and crossbone necklace

I was writing song lyrics in study hall

While you were reading Sports Illustrated

I was smoking cigarettes at the diner

While you were scoring touchdowns

I was wandering the mall

While you were at the homecoming dance

I was depressed

While you were living your glory days

So what should we talk about now?

Your kids?

Your sales job?

I’m sure everything in your life is wonderful

I’ve seen your vacation pictures on facebook

Let’s be sure to do this again

In ten more years.
