Now What?

Now What?

A Poem by pouringwater

What happened?

I used to be so creative

So many good ideas used to ripen within me

The world lay out before me

No limits

Daydreams were worthwhile because they were attainable

Now I have memories of distant daydreams

Smaller, dimmer in the distance

You can see them if you squint really hard

Television

Coffee

Window shopping online

And it’s from the safety of my suburban townhouse

And I’ve earned it

I struggled and payed my dues to get here

Now what?

The unspoken statement of this piece seems to be, "I have all the things I wanted, now what am I supposed to do?"

Feel this is a very true outlook. Great expression and voice.
