Victoria AvenueA Poem by DandelionAnd each night, they meet once again...What a morbid
place Dark graves
surrounded by the cold whisper of the wind And for some,
a final resting place With only
silence and grief Inside the
gates, tombstones are aligned And on some, ornaments
are settled Memoirs of
long lost memories This is the
story of young passionate lovers With a love
tale entombed that will go on forever...
Their story
started in summer 1963 Love was at
first sight, simply He was
charming and well-mannered She was
pretty, graceful as a bird He immediately
approached her, she was so beautiful That was the
day she wore a rose in her hair Truly
completed by one another He gave her
flowers every Tuesday Just to set
one more smile on her face Under the
sweet warmness of the sun Time flew
away It only
mattered that they had each other And it seemed
like nothing could break them apart
At the end of
summer A tragedy
shattered them She was sick,
dying And his
heart, broken into pieces How could he
live a life without his dearest? There he was,
bleeding Trying to
give her everything, in vain At the last
simple touch, just like thousands of roses She smiled
with tears running down her cheeks ''I love
you... forever'' she said, and then she slowly slipped away The last rose
died ...Victoria
was gone
These evil
thorns hurt, if holding them too tightly He lost her,
the love of his life His
everything No one could
ever heal his broken soul And no one
could ever replace his sweet Victoria
Then, on a
gray rainy day Family and
close friends in sorrow attended her burial He was there,
standing far apart from the others Looking distant
at the coffin It seemed so
unreal, she couldn't be dead
Days passed
heavily He remembered
her fragrant scent of roses Her touch
when she hugged him tightly Her calm
singing voice when she talked to him Flashbacks
made him look back at all the happy moments Looking back
at their promises from the heart He could
still feel her all around In
depression, he tried to continue on But then all
hope disappeared And he was
gone in a flame
It was a dark
October night All his pain
was gone far away He walked
alone outside Knowing
exactly where to go The tall
locked gate wasn't an obstacle He passed
right threw it And finally,
there she was Wearing a
porcelain white dress flowing with the air And roses in her
streaming hair Their
translucent hands meeting once again
Now, two
small graves are one beside the other With a small
rose symbol engraved on one And a heart
on the other After the
bell rings And once the
gates closed Their souls
meet once more Buried deep
down It still goes
on And the
thorns are gone... forever © 2014 DandelionAuthor's Note
