Back to Him

Back to Him

A Poem by Jasmine Smith

A blockage, a bondage, a separation

Separating you from touching the face of God

Spilling over from the life before

Could it be a generational curse?

Slipping into your body

Poisoning your mind

Taking away from who you are

Lying to your spirit, satisfying your flesh

But your spirit doesn’t believe it, flesh receives it

Just give in is what it says

So you do, you give up

Why?

Hating yourself afterwards

Wanting to go back

Go back to before

Anger rises within you

Anger at yourself

But yet you do it again

But only when you are away from Him

Out of His presence

When in Him you are free

When in Him you are whole

When alone you are bound by the chains of your failure

Choked by your own weakness

Trusting in the lies that are whispered in your ear

How to trust in Him?

How to rely on Him alone?

A question with an answer yet to be found

But searching

How to break the wall

The wall that separates you from seeing God
