Friend From God

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother

A life spent searching for that one person

To help strengthen life your life not worsen

Life becomes hard and times become painful

For just a helping hand you would be thankful

Just about to give up, doubt trapped in the mind

Who can show me love not just a kind line?

God was watching, He had a plan for the two of us

A relationship filled with love and trust

No accident or coincidence, you walked into my life

Not at a wrong time but the time that was right

Alike in many ways, I could understand

Your life gave me hope, you were that helping hand

Helped save my life, guide me back to God

Us together was nothing odd

Helped me to gain strength and hope once again

Showed me how to overcome a life filled with sin

Day by day, night by night, step by step you are always there

I can see that you are real and you truly love and care

You told me truth, not lies that I wanted to hear

Helped me conquer my biggest fears

I am where I am partly because of you, it is true

Because you shared that love of God that is inside of you

A closest friend you are to me, who knows all of who I am

No judgment ever in your eyes, accepted me not condemned

I thank God for you every day, for who you are to me

You will always be a part of my life, you are my family
