In Your Presence

In Your Presence

A Poem by Jasmine Smith

God a heaviness

A heaviness upon me

Upon my heart

Sinking my heart

Rattling my bones

A feeling upon me never felt

Until in your presence

Reaching toward your face

My heart is so heavy

Yearning for you and only you

I love you

My savior I love you

An uncontrollable feeling

To never leave is my desire

A crazy feeling but I want more

I hunger

My spirit is hungry

Hungry for your presence

Holy, Holy, Holy

Raining down on me

Showering me

Coming upon me like a mighty rushing wind

Finding you

Searching for you

Leaving me breathless

Bur I do not want to breathe

Breathe for me

Touch me

Embrace me

To never leave this place

You, you, you, you

Choking me

Reveal yourself

I won’t leave

Waiting God

I’m waiting for you

You come now

Now

Father

With each word my heart races

With each beat my body becomes more weak
