Go Back

Go Back

A Poem by Jasmine Smith

Is what is mine really mine?

I cannot see myself

Eyes upon nothing but something

As I go right I see me go left

I feel the words, but I do not hear

A tug and a pull, a want and a yearn

A mind whirling around and around

Sit in silence as the soul burns

So much change but still the same

I die as I live right now

My heart stops, my soul stays

A soft voice whispers “how?”

A love forgotten so easily

But you cannot forget

Lost what you can never lose

Have I won yet?

So unworthy yet somehow worthy

Loved even though

A turned face, a forgotten truth

You love me so

Time, time, what time?

Time to start again

Become blind to what you see

Let go so scarlet sin

It lies at the fingertips

Not strength but want, I need

Turn back and push forward

As He takes the lead
