Single Rose

Single Rose

A Poem by Natasha

Small and insignificant
A single red rose strives in the snow
Holding on as the chilling wind blows
I pick the rose remembering those times
When we waited in line
Or sat near a pine eating ice cream
When he lissed me softly
When he hugged me tightly
He protected me kindly
It was so long ago
Time goes
Hes now laying there
Underground in his bed
I put a single rose at his grave
I wish you could have been saved
