JammedA Poem by Kristine Stewartthis is from 1984 during the cold war 5/3/1984
Yes, they're really out there
far across the water tuned in to short wave band They strain their ears to listen because the sound is in a jam They stay up late at night to hear everything they can moving to and taping all the sounds their people ban In between interference they hear a piano play a lone guitar lick slowly fades away..... They hunger for a piece of the beat they listen to A universal language so well-known Searching all the while on a radio dial for a piece of the rock to call their own They have tape rolling it's going underground they're going keep it going...this foreign sound They're going to have a party when they get the chance gonna play it in cognito and gonna dance
