The EndA Poem by popourii
I saw the end before it came,
I knew that we would die, I tried to warn you more than once, The sadness in your eyes. I have been in many places, Stretched across this world, I have been so many faces, I have been so many... I want to be understood, When I think I cannot be, I want to be noticed, When I want to disappear. They all said that they would stay, When I knew they wouldn't, You always said that you would stay, I always knew you wouldn't. I cannot hold anything good for myself, I have it just to burn it down, I cannot hold you to myself, For no one is that good. I saw the end before you saw, That I could never be, The one to lift you from your feet, The one to set you free. Mother, sister, pretty friend, You shrink into the distance, Mother, sister, pretty friend, You'll never see me to the end. © 2013 popouriiAuthor's Note
