Silent as a mime

Silent as a mime

A Poem by Shannon
"

Third poem to a photo series.

"
Lips sewn shut by silence
Unable to speak the truth
Or any kind of thoughtful meaning
Hand gestures and body movements
The only way to get the real mood across
Things he has wanted to say
Have been pushed far away.
Ignoring something that could be wonderful

His tongue moves at the back of his throat
But no words will come out
Years of being told to quiet all thoughts
People cover their ears so they cannot hear.
Their ignorance blinds them
Their arrogance is what guides them
So many things are left unsaid
The pain brings him back to silence.

well, this is sagaciously written with a very fine touch of dolefulness... Tragic, yet those words handles a very realistic truth... Being in a deadly silence.
beautiful piece
