Good-bye...

I was writting this during and after a relantionship I had.

It was wonderful while it lasted,

                The sweet moments we had,

        The tender touches sent chills up my back.

                But I must say good-bye…

 

        It was nice to think,

                That you actually cared.

        That I was the only one.

                But I must say good-bye…

 

        As time went by,

                I realized that I was nothing,

        I was just another toy for you.

                I must say good-bye…

       

        You threw me away,

                As if I was an old toy.

        That was broken and used.

                I must say good-bye…

 

        Even though we were together,

                Something changed.

        I wasn’t the only one.

                I must say good-bye…

 

        I realized I was just a plaything,

                That you grew tired of.

        You wanted a new toy.

        You used me then throw me away,

                I don’t blame you either.

        But it hurts to say.

        I now realize, since I’ve looked back,

                That you never cared.

        You just wanted the toy.

        Seemed to me that, that night was the last,

                I put all my heart into it.

        Trying to make it last.

        I wanted it to last longer,

                But I grew tired

        I woke up with your arms around me.

                I must say good-bye…

 

        I wondered if you meant it or not.

                But I soon realized, you didn’t

        I was just a broken plaything.
