A Villanelle

All I can say is I love you,

It’s as simple as that,

You make me feel brand new.

All I can promise is to be true,

But now I don’t know where you’re at.

All I can say is I love you,

But I’m afraid that you’ve slipped through

the cracks, you’re confusing like that-

You make me feel brand new.

I want you so badly- you haven’t got a clue.

I hope I’m not just something to look at-

All I can say is I love you.

I try so hard to not fall through

But your pull is irresistible, and with that

You make me feel brand new.

I try to run back but all I see is you,

And with each word that isn’t love my heart goes flat.

All I can say is I love you-

You make me feel brand new.
