A Thousand Days

A Thousand Days

A Poem by Kayla

After 3 years
after more than a thousand ninety-five days
I still haven't gotten over you
and you haven't got a clue.

A thousand days is a lot of time
more than 60,000 minutes of you haunting my mind
You've taken away my smile, my heart, and you've stolen my once innocent soul

A thousand days of loving you
is not something that I had planned to do
A thousand days of fading away
You came to me but you didn't stay

A thousand days of feeling my own heart break
Day by day I slipped away
Months of my life all lost to you
You made my skies grey, instead of the much expected blue

A thousand days;
I wasn't expecting the hurt and I wasn't expecting the pain
Not only did you get into my heart; you got into my brain
and now, thanks to you, I'll never be the same

A thousand days of you
A thousand days of me
A thousand days of unexpectancy
A thousand days of pain.

It needs a little work but the idea is a good one and the constant repetition of a thousand days is very effective... hope that it doesnt take me a thousand days
