Carson's silver beat up 1990 Acura Legend, pulled up into my dad's driveway. I was nervous to see how this was going to go. I knew in my gut, something would go wrong. I watched as Carson got out of the car. He had on a stripped white and blue button down shirt, which was unbutton, a black muscle shirt, and a pair of faded, ripped, jeans.

I didn't want to seem aggressive, so I waited till Carson rang the doorbell. I made sure that Hannah had something to do while Carson and I talked. She was in her room playing with the new cow Xavier got her.

Ding Dong, The door bell's high pitched voice rang. There were butterflies in my stomach that were fluttering uncontrollably. I took a deep breath then let it out. Should I smile as I open the door? What do I say to him? Oh god th-

Ding Dong, The door bell interrupting my thoughts. I walked over and opened the door.

My heart dropped when I looked into Carson's brown eyes. They looked hurt. How could I do this to him? Sometimes, he was the only person who was there for me, and I let him down. I wish I could just go back in time and fix this.

"Um...Hi." Carson said after a few seconds of awkward silence.

"Hi." I replied so soft it sounded like a whisper. I opened the door more and stepped aside. "You can come in."

Carson nodded and stepped in. He seemed a bit tense.

"Can we talk somewhere not so open?" Carson asked avoiding eye contact.

"Sure, we can talk in my room I guess." I started up the stairs with Carson trailing be hide me. I was about to turn into my room, when Hannah came running out of her room.

"Carson! You're back." She shrieked her blue eyes full of joy. Hannah always like Carson... well Hannah likes everyone but she always like him more than other people. I think it was because she knew he made me happy. When I was happy, Hannah was happy. I don't know why, she's just weird like that in a cute way.

"Hey Hannah." Carson chuckled as he hugged her.

"We missed you." Hannah said. My heart skipped a beat. She said we, as in me and her. I looked at Carson to see if he noticed, but his face was unreadable.

"I missed you to Hannah." His voice was flat, he differently noticed.

"Did you miss Maddy too?" Hannah said smiling as she rocked back on her heels. Hannah didn't exactly know what was going on. She really only knew that I was pregnant. I knew this was affecting her too much already; I didn't want to make it worse.

"Um, I'll wait for you in my room." I said avoiding Carson's look. I didn't want to make him anymore uncomfortable than he already was. I walked into my bedroom. It seems like I’ve been spending too much time in this room. I never thought that I would get sick of my light purple walls and white carpet. I walked over to my bed and sat down on the white bedspread, and laid my head on my fuzzy purple and lime green pillows.

I didn't know what I was going to say top Carson; I haven't exactly talked to him since I left. I rested my hands on my stomach. It wasn't long before Carson came in. The door wasn't shut, but he still knocked.

"You can come in." I said as Carson walked in. He gently closed the door behind him.

"How are you?" Carson asked to make small talk.

"Fat, you?" I countered with a smile. If he was going to be here, might as well make it easy as possible, right? A smile flicked across Carson's face, but only for a second.

"Confused, bit hurt, and honestly, I feel like an a*s. Look Maddy I know that it was wrong of me to call you a liar, but I was pissed. I love you and I feel like not only did you lie to me, but you used me. I don't kn-...... How am I supposed to react to this? Do you know? Cause I have no freaking idea." Carson shot at me. I know he just needed to let off some steam, but his words were like a knife. Every word cut deep into my skin.

"You're supposed to be pissed." I replied not looking at him "You should be so pissed, that you shouldn't want to talk to me let alone see me."

"Is that what I'm supposed to do? Or is that what you want me to do?" Carson countered as he sat down in my white leather chair across from my bed.

"It's what you're supposed to do Carson! What you should do and what I want you to do are two totally different things." I said blinking fast. My sight was getting blurred and I knew no matter how many times I blinked, it wouldn't stop the tears from coming down my face.

Carson looked down at the ground and ran his hand through his dark, auburn hair. It was down to the end of his ears, he hasn't cut it in a while. Usually he keeps it just a bit above his ears.

"So then what do you want me to do?" Carson asked softly so I could barely hear.

"Where are we?"

"Um, in your room." Carson replied looking a bit confused.

"I mean relationship wise."

"Oh..." Carson was quiet for a minute then looked me in the eyes. "When Hannah asked me if I missed you, and you walked away, it reminded me of the old you. You don't want to put pressure on me to give an answer you want to hear. I loved that part of you Maddy. I still do. I meant it when I told Hannah that I miss you more than anything. But this whole... mess, I can't take the lying and drama. I will always love you, but i don't know if i can continue to take your lies." I felt like someone ripped out my heart as Carson told me this. I loved Carson more than anything and I know he's doing the right thing but... it hurts.

"I don't want you living here." Carson said.

"Excuse me?"

"I don't want you to live here in this house with that sick b*****d." Carson spoke up.

"Okay Carson, let me pack up all my things, leave my little sister, and go live on the street because you said so." I shot at him. That pissed me off. He just broke up with me and now he wants to kick me out of my own house? Who does he think he is?

"No, I didn't mean it like that." Carson rushed. "I mean, I called your mom and I told her everything an-" I cut him off.

"You told my mom?!?!" I yelled.

"Yes Maddy, you were raped! Why wouldn't I tell your mom?"

"Because she won't care." I sobbed as tears gushed down my face.

"Yes she will Maddy, she's your mom." Carson said in a soothing voice. Why was he being nice? Why can't he just...ugh! "You're not living with her anyways. She's coming to pick up Hannah. You're moving back in with Xavier and me."

"Why? Why do you want you’re lying, cheating, ex living with you?"

"You didn't cheat on me, you were raped." Carson said as he walked over to my bed and hugged me. "I still love you Maddy, I just don't know," Carson sighed. "I just need time."

I waited a few minutes to see if he was going to say anything else, when he didn't, I whispered so softly hoping he wouldn't hear me. I didn't want him to hear this, but I needed him to hear it.

"Remember the night that I called you around two in the morning? You were sleeping but you still picked up." Carson nodded his head. "You weren't mad that I woke you up, you weren't mad that I didn't talk I only cried, and you sat there on the other end of the phone, telling me everything was going to be okay. The next day, when you picked me up for school, I wouldn't tell you why I called. I didn't talk for almost a week. You still didn't get mad. That night I called you crying, was the night my dad raped me. Your voice just made me feel better, even if it was only a little bit. You always know what to say and do. That's one of the reasons why I love you."

I know that Carson heard me. I could tell by the way he was staring at me out of the corner of my eye. Before he could say anything Hannah walked in with a small back pack with stuffed animals overflowing out of it.

"I'm ready to go." Hannah said smiling. I couldn't help but laugh she was so cute. I went in her room and packed her clothes in a bigger bag and Carson put it in his trunk. He told our mom to meet us at his condo tonight.

I'm happy I never really unpacked; it made it easier to get out of the house. We were about to leave, when dad pulled into the driveway. I never expected what was going to happen next.

Dad got out of the car and slammed his door. Hannah was already bucked into the spare car seat we kept in the basement. Carson's car door was open as he was about to get it.

"Where the hell are you taking my girls?!" My dad yelled. His voice was full of rage.

"Get in the car Maddy." Carson told me. I didn't want to. I had a really bad feeling about this.

"Don't you dare, you little s**t!" My dad shouted at me. I didn't move I know I should listen to Carson, but I couldn't get my feet to move.

"Don't talk to her like that you sick b*****d!"

"Don't tell me how I should talk my daughter. In case if you haven't noticed, she is a s**t!"

"You're the one who did this to her." Carson shot back as he slammed his car door shut. My dad was getting pissed off. I looked in the back seat at Hannah. She was getting scared as she hid her face behind one of her many stuffed animals. I couldn't see her face clearly, but I knew she was crying.

"Don't talk to me like that you little smart a*s!" My dad walked right up to Carson, he was inches away from his face.

Carson pulled back his right arm and punched my dad full force in the face. Hannah screamed from inside the car and I gasped in shock as my dad fell on the ground. Carson's face was full of rage. He took one look at my dad then kicked him in the groin, hard.

Carson turned back to me and said,

"Maddy, please get in the car now." His voice was stern and I could tell he didn't want to be messed with. I got in the car and looked at Hannah. Her face was red and she was gasping for air as she sobbed her poor heart out.

"Hannah, are you okay sweetie?" I asked softly as i gently ran my hand down her brunette hair. Hannah nodded her head as she leaned her face into my palm. Carson turned to look at Hannah before backing out of the driveway.

"Hannah, I'm sorry. I lost control and i forgot that you were here." Carson said with a sad expression on his face. I could tell he meant every word he was saying.

"I-i-I’m not c-cry-ing because you h-hurt d-d-him. I-i--'m crying b-becau-se i-i- h-hat-hate h-him." Hannah sobbed.

I looked at Hannah I know she doesn't hate dad, but i know she has a right to be mad at him. I looked over at Carson who was looking back at me with a questioning look on his face.

"Just drive." I mouthed the words to him. Carson pulled out of the driveway leaving my dad and bad memories behind.
