Murderer

Murderer

A Poem by Julie Beth
"

I wrote this poem its short and i was going to put it in a story i'm working on

"

Walking down these halls

I remember the old me

memories come rushing back

at that point I realize

this isn't me

I'm not who I want to be

I am a murderer

For I have killed

the old me

I agree with Gracie. That was DEEP Julie. But its also so true. Lately everyone has been loosing themselves and changing themselves into something they arent.

You've said so much here with so few words. You've captured the realization of losing oneself perfectly. Although this works fabulously as a short piece, I was just about to write that it lends itself to something much more ambitious when i saw your description and think that is totally the solution...build a story around it!

Short but AWESOME! Simplicity means perfection in my book.

This is really well done! I think a lot of people come to the realization that we lost our old selves. Or as this poem says, murdered! But I guess, that's life, searching for the real you!
A really great poem, simply said but I can totally relate!!
