Hi William; this will be our last lesson as I hope you will be back in school soon. It has be a lot of fun!

Gadget

Synonyms: appliance, contraption, contrivance, gizmo, widget, convenience

 

A device or control that is very useful for a particular job.

 

The example makes it very clear what a gadget is - David has this fancy new gadget that can peel a whole head of garlic in seconds.

 

Your turn- please write a good sentence that shows the meaning of the word

 

Computer gadgets

Household gadgets

Cleaning gadgets

etc

 

 

Haiku for the day - notice different number of syllables - 3, 5, 4

 

balmy breeze
swarming bees circle
the river bank

Your Research Today - Trivia questions - where do bumblebees nest? what is cryogenics?

 

Underground; Production of low temperatures

1. Budapest (about the creative process)

2. Somedays (dollhouse images) sometimes you eat the bear; somedays it eats you

3. Forgetfulness (mental slippage)

4. The Country (etiquette  - mice, match, fire)

5. The Dead  (wrote after friend’s funeral - watching us)
