The Heart's Dungeon

The Heart's Dungeon

A Poem by poison&kerosene

There's a solemn room in my heart
It's cold year round and rather dark
I keep the key held in my lungs
And breathe it out once nights' begun

An exiled place I've feared to tread
A place where all my hopes lay dead
As long as the stars hang in the sky
I visit the place my truths stand by

On these endless night endeavors
My daytime smile from me is severed
I cling to nothing in this space
This horridly unforgiving place
