Bystander

Bystander

A Poem by poison&kerosene

The moment that I understood how the world worked, I wanted nothing to do with it
My absence is complicit
My silence is violent
I know this
But I just want to go back to bed

You are such a poet!!!

Bystanding teaches common sense to hold the reins at time.

Brilliant brevity!

Oh my. This is so powerful in its brevity. Just look at the state of our planet and our species. Is it any wonder we want to stay in bed longer? Excellent brevity. I hear you.

Oh, what a line!
"my silence is violent"---

I wish I had written that one.

I do a lot of going back to bed these days....nap a lot in between that which I must do...

and I, too, feel like a bystander....waiting for some peaceful, coherent change, in order to join in again.

Damn this poem got me going.
