Repeated SentenceA Poem by poison&kerosene
The safety of the closet sickened by the smell of him
Tangled up in the hoodies I used to wind around my waist Because it smelled like you in the dark I close my eyes and hold my breath There goes the mug I bought him Down goes the dining room table I told myself over and over...never again. So I met a man with a gentle touch For years I wrapped myself up in his arms The smell of his clothes made me feel warm And ten years later I found myself hiding again Locked in the bathroom clinging to the shower curtain Your body wash nauseating me while I sit and ask no one Why? He looked so in love in our wedding album I am once again just a teen hiding in my boyfriend's closet Wondering why it is so easy for men to say I love you © 2023 poison&keroseneReviews
