This reads as the absence of the “innocent years,” when we skipped through life happy and anxiety free. Instead you were pushed into adulthood and all the pressures and expectations of being what others expect. A sad portrait but powerful with such brevity.

we tie that reality around our necks and it chokes us...innocence is just skipped...
Too old too soon these days with all that is going on.
I remember when we got to be kids...we actually had childhoods...but what kids see, hear and do now...
they are 50 before they are 10...
