A Poem by poison&kerosene
"

I know my writing has not been at it's best. I am having trouble feeling much of anything these days and writing is the only way I can slip back into normalcy.

"

Skin that once dripped crimson onto my porcelain wrist

Now stretches and molds a fading pink reminder

We don’t have to remain an open wound

Years of an angry monologue etched onto my brain

Slowly rewritten by an author who knows pain

But isn’t walking the cellblock of that prison

The child that filled her heart with misplaced grief

Blooms into a woman with great fervor

And seizes the dreams for that child

Thank you JungLee for your kind words! Appreciate you stopping by :)
i love this...the transition from the troubled teen into the woman who understands the worst, and through it all fiercely, aggressively goes after that dream...for the child who couldn't.
i am with Ted...your latest pieces are personal, potent and show "great fervor" in form and content.
we are all dealing with open wounds these days, and for most of us poets, "angry monologue"!

Not sure why you would think your writing hasn't been at its best, because this is excellent poetry. We can all be our own worst critics, which is why it's good to send them off and wait for feedback.

A good write p&k.

Wouldn't worry too much about how your writing is just now, the world is slightly bonkers anyway.
You can only write how you feel. Never stop being a child, it keeps you young.

I agree it is a crazy time and having an inner child is useful in heavy times such as this!
