Two Tin Cans and a String

Two Tin Cans and a String

A Poem by poison&kerosene

I can close my eyes and imagine your touch

Your fingers an extension of your compassion

Your warmth radiating Spring upon a frosty field

Your laughter rings in my ears melodically

Like the band we saw on our first date

As your hands awkwardly sought my own

After all these years you’re still the only one

And the distance while painful, taught me this

There is no border that can divide true love

When I saw the title, it took me back to my first walkie-talkie.
Always great when you want to keep someone in your life, even if you know you can't.
Life is strange though, and times can change.

your poem makes me think of James Taylor...."close your eyes, you can close your eyes it's alright, i don't know no love songs and i can't sing the blues anymore...but i can sing this song, and you can sing this song when i'm gone..."

ah communication from the tree house to that second story window...a Romeo and Juliet romance...
but this one not star crossed, but lasting...even as the distance separates physically...the hearts still love.
No borders for love, no borders.
