Tender Hearted GirlA Poem by poison&keroseneI understand this poem isn't very special. I have a lot of work stress at the moment and I had to at least try to write something for my own sanity.Vulnerable, Exposed, Raw They say, “You wear your heart on your sleeve.” “One day you will learn to guard yourself” Good intent but unsolicited My tender heart is not a character flaw I understand how the world works I’ll be eaten alive and spat back out But I will never be broken I will not bandage my scars Or build a dam around my tears Just to make you more comfortable I have a heart that sings to others People in turmoil, confusion and fear That to me is a gift I am immune to bitterness Incapable of becoming jaded You can call me weak and soft But you would be half wrong © 2020 poison&keroseneReviews
