What They Fail to MentionA Poem by poison&kerosene
They didn't tell me that my eyes would burn
or that my hands would shake nervously and that I'd be cold on a hot summer day because sleep evades me. They didn't tell me that the world is bright for about a week or so after the incident but slowly it would twist and morph into shadows and figurines. They failed to mention that my self worth became a half price sale or a liquidation because when the product is defective people would not want to buy. They forgot to mention the fear I'd see Tears shimmering in my mothers eyes because maybe if I had one bad day She would lose me for good this time. The truth is you don't become reborn As glamorous and romantic it may seem being on borrowed time is heart wrenching And I fight everyday to make sure that I'm still worth it. © 2019 poison&keroseneReviews
