Broken ReligionA Poem by Emily Dickinson Jr.My friend cassie had her heart broken when her boyfriend of years condemns her for not being a christian.
How can you say you love her Nibble at her neck
Express your love endowed Behind a discreet net
Then when you fall away Tell playmate Time for no play
Say such evil things Let a mean side shine
Ridicule your choices Even if they're not sublime Because she tells you She's not christian
You call out "Devil Worshiper!"
You know not your words Nor what they do to her
You don't know religion You only can assume
Ignorant boy I won't employ You're words littered with harsh doom
My friend I'll always stay Protect you from his words
How could such enviable Cushioned love Turn to nothing but a curse
Just becuase your Pagan Doesn't mean 'not pure'
She's still the most innocent The very purest, girl next door
Just because nature Welcomes her embrace Doesn't mean you should acuse Like barbarians with Flames and Mace
She says it's who she is yet you don't really care Can't you see the hurt Littering up her Stare
Johny Johny no You have better leave For your insensitivities Cause many hearts to bleed
I will not now ever grieve you Only my friend's heart from where you stayed But now I will condemn you For ever having led her astray © 2013 Emily Dickinson Jr.Reviews
