The bird asked the rat "why are you so lovely?" The rat raised a single fuzzy Eyebrow "Pretty bird, Pretty bird I'm a lowly rat. How can you say I'm pretty With your downy feathers And My scruffy fur in disaray?" Asked the rat "your fur is ugly." Said the bird " Then what is pretty?" Asked the rat "My nose? My eyes?" "No your nose is slimy, And your eyes common and beedy." "My tail perhaps?" "No that is uglier than the most unappetizing Of worms." " Then pretty bird , How am I lovely?" "You are lovely Because you do not Know that you are lovely." And the rat stared in Petrified, confusion. Wondering on this Pretty bird's delusion. And the bird said, "You're hardly an animal With that big heart you're using. Pretty, Pretty rat You're a pretty, pretty bird In your scruffy rat-a-tat Heart. That's why you'll scurry Around Long after this pretty sinful bird Has been shot To the ground."
