Unknowns

I've traveled down the road and back
I've seen the light, I've seen the black
In the act of life
The roles I've played
Never thought I could've stayed-----
And my heart,
That that holds me
Is torn apart.
When it comes down to
The Lover and the Friend
I was never sure where I would end
But I remember being told
Nothing that matters is made of gold
In the walk of days
So many things
Never knew the pain it brings
And my soul
That that warms me
Has grown cold
When it comes down to
The Lover and the Friend
I was never sure where I would end
Oh, Lord if I could take the pain back
Shine with light, I could dispel the black
All the doors in life
I suppose
Never believe that one could close
And our hearts
That that breaks us
Holds us, makes us
When it comes down to
The Lover and the Friend
Never want to know where I will end
I'll leave it to Love
