Shadows

Shadows

A Poem by poetsblade
"

the part you never leave behind,,,,

"

I've known this hunger
For so long now;

It's like my shadow,
Doesn't matter anyhow.

It's the cold on your spine
in a warm room ,
when you're alone.

It's the silence that stretches
after a goodbye,
on the phone.

I wanted answers.

I wanted warmth.

But there's just
you and me,
And the shadows that speak
of the coming of the night.

This goes deep and really captures the emotions involved. Your words: "It's the cold on your spine
in a warm room , when you're alone" really nail the feeling. Your last stanza is hauntingly beautiful. A stunning poem.

Clear thread of longing beyond longing in the poem!

Shadows are like spectres - not looming - just being watchers of the night!

Nice take!
