Black SheepA Poem by poetrythunder
As I lay in bed looking at dark ceiling above me.
I try to count sheep jumping from one end of my bed to the next.
Every sheep I picture is white as snow. All but one. One black sheep that pops its head in from time to time. This is the one that fascinates me the most. It never jumps across my bed. Rather it sits in the corner watching all the white sheep jump. I turn to the black sheep and ask "Why is it that you never jump across my bed" It has no verbal reply But it's dark frighten eyes tell me everything. This is the one sheep that doesn't fit in. The one who is scared of rejection and disappointment. I am the black sheep that will not jump. © 2016 poetrythunder |
