What Jaguar said

What Jaguar said

A Poem by Helena
"

It seems that shamans of some Indigenous Peoples in the Amazon have rituals in which they ask to become jaguars in their search for insights... so i wondered what a jaguar might say to a human...

"

You bipedal, babbling,

Largely hairless human ...

Now I will let you become

Four-footed, furred, a supple cat

Living deep in the shadowy forest

Full of sounds and smells that will speak to you

As you become jaguar, because

Jaguar knows what humans never can.

Very bemusing, Helena,
I love it like a children's poem,
great read! ----Maynard

Cleverly considered, brilliantly written - I truly appreciate the dry wit to your poem, Helena. There's a moral there too - in fact, TWO gifts offered in quite a short post. Thank you so much for sharing!
