Summer

Summer

A Poem by erika
"

A poem about summer.

"

Summer has a magic all its own.

Blue skies, a wisp of fluffy cloud

Feet pruned from lingering swims in the pool

Sunshine radiating down

In summer,

Worries melt away

Like the sunscreen dripping down my back

I can close my eyes and forget, for a while

That I have responsibilities, duties, things I need to do

Summer turns me into someone I can be

Only for a few short weeks

I return to reality

         {Is summer an alternate universe? It feels like it}

refreshed

like the sunshine saturated my bones

and I’m still glowing.
