Part Ways

Part Ways

A Poem by KatieJean

VS.
I can’t create the perfect happy ending
I can’t undo my past mistakes
I can try to learn from them and
Try to make the best of what I have
I had to do what I felt was right

CH.
You may never forgive me and that’s okay
I couldn’t pretend that everything was perfect, when it wasn’t
You may never see things the way I did
But that’s just more reason why we had to part ways

VS.
My life won’t be centered around waiting for that phone call
And never knowing when I’d get to see you again
I couldn’t go on feeling like you didn’t know me at all
While between us the distance was growing

CH.
You may never forgive me and that’s okay
I couldn’t pretend that everything was perfect, when it wasn’t
You may never see things the way I did
But that’s just more reason why we had to part ways

KateJean,

...And thus true love dies. Or perhaps it was never true?

Kate, this song is an example of intellegent people making intellegent decisions to part ways. It is the rational person who makes the call to leave well enough alone, you have a great mind.

I enjoyed this poem and hope oneday I do hear it with lyrics. Great job!

Thank you for sharing,

Legacy
