Sunlit Morning

Sunlit Morning

A Poem by KatieJean

Sun shines in between the tilted blinds
Leaving a glow on the unmade bed
Left from a stumbling child
Hurrying to start the day
The purring of the family's cat
Ruffles the sheets as if the wind
Was blowing through
Toys lay on the ground
Tossed and turned over
Making his mother step over them with care
As she makes his bed
Only for him to jump into it
And mess it up all over again that night
Finger paint pictures line the wall
All signed with a different colored hand print
And the closet door stayed shut
For fear monsters will jump out and hide underneath the bed
And as the sun shines in between those blinds
Is a room full of memories that have and have yet to happen

it floats like a genteel wave on a small beck...undulating in every line and gently touching the shore...numbing the sands of time...

really loved reading it! keep it up!
