Fingerprints on the WindowA Poem by Fuego31Written 1/25/15. Not about anything in particular, I just thought this would be a cool story to tell
Walking through my new house
Years abandoned they told me The dusty stairwells in need of carpet The rusty pipe in the sink But what I notice most particularly Are the fingerprints on the window Leading to the backyard A two by four foot pane of glass The top edge filled with cobwebs of new inhabitants Side edges molded with the rains of time The bottom twelve inches Containing oils of history The child longing for sunny days when it rained The girl waiting for her crush to appear in the night The boy trying to open it to sneak to his girlfriend's room The wife wanting to escape Her husband beating her The son leaning his forehead When his first love leaves him for someone else This window tells so many stories None will I ever know Time to make my own memories And watch this painting grow
