Stay Home!

All this rushing about

It used to be

A time to have fun

With family

 

But now it’s all

Eat-turkey-then-shop

There’s never a moment

When the chaos stops

 

All I want

Is some time to spend

With my cousins

Before week’s end

 

I miss the dinner

When everyone would gather

But because of Black Friday

Everyone would rather

 

Go to the store

To shop the night away

I don’t understand because

You can shop any other day

 

I know there are savings

And money is tight

But you know what you’re doing

To the employees, right?

 

We’re taken away

We get no time

We have to cater to you

All day and all night

 

I want to sit around the table

Watching my cousins go bezerk

Not sleep in until noon

So that I can stay awake for work

 

I miss those days

When the break was a time

To spend in harmony

Not save every dime

 

So please, just stay home

Why do you want to

Add to the chaos

That we employees already go through?
