The PlaceA Poem by Fuego31Written right after "A Mental Twilight"
A lost girl
Walks through the woods Twilight just ended She walks to no where A thick fog surrounds her Beading on her choppy long brown hair Casting a bluish light from no source Concealing the shadows Sound is muffled but echoed The mossy floor cool to the touch Her bare feet Making her vulnerable in this mysterious wilderness The trees are indifferent Forming an uneven loop A valley in this no-where place Where she stands curious A yellow dot shines Could it be a floating firefly A hunting wolf's eyes or simply her imagination? A purple moon hangs in the black sky A crescent orb amidst a blanket of rainbow stars Is she alone in this world? Is it a world? She feels neither peace nor anxiety Not knowing who or where she is The only thing she sees Is the place where she stands It is a place that is no place The stuff of dreams A beautiful nightmare The insubstantial escape Nothing is touched Nothing is moved It remains the looming The Perfect The Place © 2013 Fuego31 |
