I wrote this around 11:20pm on 1/22/13. I screwed up with my best friend.

I can't continue in this selfish manner,
I need to change starting now
I hold my sorry like a banner
I only hope you unfurl your brow

You've been more patient than I could ask for
A quality I most admire
Please don't walk out the door
Without you I will expire

You've been there for me like no other
My longest lasting friend
I know I can be an easy bother
Please give me a chance to make this mend

This talk of me has got to stop
It's time to focus on you
My bad habits I'll gladly drop
If you're willing to see me through

I love you
You're my best friend
Please don't go away
I could not hope to possibly last
