Do You Really Know Me?

Do You Really Know Me?

A Poem by Fuego31
"

In this poem, I am questioning the knowledge of everyone who claims to know me.

"
Do you really know me?
Am I happy, or hiding?
You see a smile on my face
Is it a mask?
I have many friends,
I am their therapist
Or are they mine?
Is my acne from my diet,
Or am I suffering intense stress?
Do you really know me
You think I am gay,
but have you considered every angle?
When does a lifestyle of defying social conformity,
become an unforeseen change in who you are?
"You don't know until you try",
Well I haven't been able to try
Do you really know me?
My strange and continuous somatic networking
My erratic and restless movements
My happiest moments tainted
by my deepest fears and darkest desires
My stubborn struggle to prevent an unstoppable fall
My intense and sickening guilt

Well do you?!?!

I think the people who know you are the ones who are genuinely interested in you, they will take the time to discover the person you are in every aspect.. and it is rare, it's beyond the superficial knowing from day to day, the conformity and social stereotypes.. this is a wake up call and a challenge for people to communicate on a more substantial level.

This is really deep. Usually the only people who actually know you, and know how you feel are the people who are interesting in you, and care about you, and are actually willing to take the time and effort to get to know the real you. You're a really great writer, keep writing. :)

Wow, this was very deep. People we've known our entire lives don't truly know us. You described this perfectly. Great write. Keep up the good work.
