Pacing In the Clock Tower

Living inside an aquarium

Looking through the glass

Watching the world turn as I feel time slowly pass.

 

Trapped here inside the inner workings of my mind.

The light from outside is fading

we're running out of time.

 

The clocks tick and the sand falls

each moment is fixed in motion without a pause.

 

How fearfully we pray that time won't find its end.

Even in my aquarium this rapid beat is not a friend.

Ah, an interesting take on the "outside-looking-in" perspective of the world. I like the choice of an aquarium - it's got a lot of implications to explore and it's a rather original choice. My only comments are those of slight grammatical touch-up: "won'" is missing a "t" (to make "won't") and the "it's" in the second to last line should be "its."

This was amazing!
I love the whole concept. The aquarium was a really neat idea.
The closing line was really great.
"Even in my aquarium this rapid beat is not a friend."
That was the perfect way to end this poem.
