A modern version

a Glosa

I know a bank where the wild Thyme blows.

Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows

Quite over canopied with luscious woodbine.

With sweet musk rose and with eglantine.

A modern version

I know a bank where the wild thyme blows.

A favourite spot for lovers I suppose

Where they exchange kisses sweeter than wine.

Anticipating ecstasies divine.

Where oxlips and the nodding violets grows.

It seems the speed of passing minutes slows.

Enjoying mutual ecstasies

Until they reach the ultimate release.

Quite over canopied by luscious woodbine.

Close interwoven with eglantine.

Hid from the prying eyes of passers by.

Well satisfied they are content to lie.

With sweet musk rose and eglantine

Whose delicate aromas subtly combine.

To perfume their own private paradise.

Nature provides freely beyond all price.
