prayer for reliefA Poem by poeticpiersexperimental formPrayer for relief. Condemned to wander ceaselessly. There is no place I can call home. Though I’m convinced that there must be. At least one place I’d be welcome. I’ve walked this world for centuries I’m weary and I long to rest The Gods don’t listen to my pleas To grant and ending to my quest. Although I know not why Or when I was condemned. To wander onwards hopelessly. A quest without an end Unless the Gods relent And end my punishment. I want to die Like other men. Lie quietly Freed from my pain. Sunday, 29 April 2012 © 2012 poeticpiers |
