No GuaranteeA Poem by poeticpierssplit couplet formatNo guarantee. The morning sun is bright today It will not stay. Autumn is drawing to its close. Though I suppose. Winter must come with ice and snow Although I know. Spring will return and bring the sun When winters done. Nature decrees when that will be Then we will see. The fertile soil show shoots of green. All fresh and clean Bright crocus and shy snowdrop know Its time to show. New tender leaves will dress the trees. They’re sure to please. The eyes of every passer by None will deny. They have grown sick of winter white So they delight To see a thousand shades of green. Changing the scene. From monochrome is most welcome Now spring has come. The colours we’ve been yearning for Will show once more. Banishing the monotony Which used to be A boring scene all black and white. Now put to flight. As natures shows what she can do. To start anew. Each season ruling for a while in its own style As the have done since time began A simple plan Devised by Nature long ago. The seasons flow. One to another seemingly Quite easily. As it has been so it will be. Most probably Although there is no guarantee That things won’t change eventually. Friday, 14 September 2012 © 2012 poeticpiers |
