Shangri La

Shangri La

Shangri La.

Beyond the mountains I can see.

Lie other mountains endlessly.

The mountains that I’ve left behind.

Are mountains of a different kind.

Lower, warmer clad in green

An altogether different scene.

From the peaks which lie ahead.

Just barren rock completely dead.

I must continue with my quest.

To reach the place where I can rest.

In Shangri La the goal I seek

Which lies beside the highest peak.

Few will succeed though many try

And those that do will never die.

For they have earned the right to be

Awarded immortality.
