One night of mutual delightA Poem by poeticpiersBurns sonnetOne night of mutual delight Burns sonnet. I fell in love with just one glance. That’s all it took to capture me. And like a fool I took the chance. To share with you the ecstasy. Of making love beneath the moon. Hid from the sight of prying eyes. But morning always comes too soon. And daylight takes you by surprise. We spent the night in close embrace. But now we know we have to face. The sad farewells now we must part. Although knew right from the start. Held in the grip of circumstance We’d part without a backward glance. Saturday, 11 August 2012 © 2012 poeticpiers |
