DesertedA Poem by Errol AndersonWhy do some people become parents??
DESERTED. If you could see me now, you’d see how I’ve grown. And maybe I’d know why you left for reasons unknown. A departure you made, so sure you’d never be found. A curse on you should history come around. No chance of knowing if there was a bond, Left alone to survive this raging pond. A trend you made, not a fashion but still a fad. Angered and pained should I call you dad? No male to rely on, no figure of permanence. A motherly love her best was innocence. A man you’re called, but a father you should’ve been. I look inside and hate what I’ve seen. A likeness of you is natural, The images it creates are factual. A willingness to change from being the same, Disowned and not knowing, I will not play your game. Away from me you ran, mine I will show how. If you could see me now… E ROY ANDERSON. © 2008 Errol Anderson |
