Moonlit Moors for M'lady Emma

Moonlit Moors for M'lady Emma

A Poem by Poeticpiers

sonnet variant

"

Moonlit moors.

On the high moors new fallen snow.

Reflects the silver moonlights glow.

A vast expanse of virgin white.

Until the dawning of daylight.

When the wild creatures come and go

and leave their footprints in the snow.

The high moors seen by bright daylight.
Present a rather different sight.

The random footprints clearly show

 where animals disturbed the snow.

The scene no longer pristine white.

As it was throughout the night.

The beauty seen beneath the moon.

By daylight fades alas too soon.
